Accident Summary:

 THE AIRCRAFT WAS GROUND TAXIING OUT OF A REVETMENT WITH A DOWNWIND CONDITION. A WIND GUST PUSHED THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT AND BEFORE THE PILOT COULD REACT THE TAIL ROTOR STRUCK THE REVETMENT KNOCKING THE TAIL ROTOR AND 90 DEGREE GEAR BOX OFF. THE HELICOPTER THEN STARTED A TURN TO THE RIGHT AND TURNED ABOUT 140 DEGREES WHEN THE AIRCRAFT COMMANDER LOWERED THE COLLECTIVE RESULTING, IN A HARD LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE LEFT SKID WITH A NOSE HIGH CONDITION. THE THROTTLE WOULD NOT ROLL OFF SO THE PILOT TURNED OFF THE FUEL CONTROL IN THE AIRCRAFT AND TOLD THE CREWCHIEF TO DISCONNECT THE FUEL QUICK DISCONNECT. NO CRASH RESUCE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT ALTHOUGH THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN VISUAL SIGHT OF THE TOWER. ALSO NO ONE MADE AN EFFORT TO CONTACT THE TOWER ON THE RADIO TO ADVISE THEM OF THE ACCIDENT.\\
