UH-1M 66-15238

UH-1M 66-15238, a combat veteran of the 134th Assault Helicopter Company, flew 1,315 hours in combat between September 1969 and November 1971. In 2014, the aircraft was generously donated to the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum by the Vietnam Veterans of America Baltimore Chapter 451. Now proudly displayed at the museum's Strawberry Point Flightline at Martin State Airport in Middle River, Maryland, the aircraft honors the legacy of service and sacrifice.

Restoration of 66-15238 was a labor of love. A dedicated three-person team, Ray Helmick, Hans J. Underwood (134th AHC, 1970-71), and Doc Rosenbloom, spent two years meticulously returning the helicopter to its former glory. Their craftsmanship and care transformed the aircraft into a living tribute to its Vietnam-era service.

As the webmaster, it was an honor to contribute to this meaningful project. Special thanks to Dan Porter, son of Bruce Porter (134th AHC, 1969-70), whose artistry brought the nose art back to life.
