Demon 393

What a great aircraft! With her white socks and white banner across her top, she was definitly a 2nd platoon aircraft. She was propelled by a powerful T53-L-13 turboshaft engine.

Though I crewed a number of ships, 393 was my ride for the most part. I logged some 754 hours on 393 in the performance of, dust off, resupply, but mostly combat assaults, during my tours of duty. She did sustain some damage but always transported her crew back safely to Tuy Hoa from every mission. Never red X'ed, always mission ready. She was flown practically everyday. When on the ground, she resided in revetment ONE at Tuy Hoa. Unfortunately records indicate she was transferred to the South Vietnamese Air Force and remained in Vietnam after our unit stood down.
