In early 1967, while the 134^th Assault Helicopter Company was still building up at Fort Bragg, the First Sergeant (Sergeant Carter), suggested we ought to have a unit patch. Being a soldier with some artistic skills I ran with it. In a couple of days I came back with an appropriate design and gave it to him. After that I never really gave it a second thought. I didn't know it would eventually become the unit patch for the 134^th Assault Helicopter Company. It does my heart good to know, now years later, it's still significant.
