In 1969, while stationed at Phu Hiep, RVN, Michael Dzikowski, Devil 50, designed the 3rd Flight Platoon patch. The design was officially approved by then, Major Chuck Teeter, Commanding Officer of the 134th Assault Helicopter Company (now retired Major General). The patch has held its place for more than years and counting.

The following passage is from the 1971 History page. On the 27th of November 1971 at 1845 hours, the last Demon aircraft to fly a scheduled mission in Vietnam touched down at Hell's Half Acre. Aircraft 177 with WO1 Hank Pietrzak, 1LT Barton, CE SP5 Ike Pena and G SP5 Jeff Lemon had flown a mission to Pleiku and back. At 1848 the blades ceased to turn, by 1915 the ship was postflighted and pushed into the revetments for the last time.

Tragically, just five years after returning from Vietnam, Hank's life was cut short on November 8th, 1976. He is buried in Fox Cemetery, Sevierville, Sevier County, TN. This photo of Hank, taken by photographer Hans J. Underwood, captures a moment in time in Cheo Reo in 1971.

The restoration of the 238’s nose art was beautifully carried out by Dan Porter, following in the footsteps of his father, Bruce Porter. Their combined dedication is now reflected in the display at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum in Essex, Maryland. Heartfelt thanks to both for their invaluable contributions.
